Writing in Amharic

Now that you have a very good idea what the alphabets are, let's learn to write them. Writing Amharic is a true art .... the more you practice your penmanship, the more beautiful and impressive your hand writing will be. When it comes to hand written material, it is safe to say that no two people will print the same identically. There will be some variations unless you are using mechanical means. The same applies to people that write in Amharic. In fact, hand written Amharic looks a bit different from printed Amharic (that is using type writer or computers).
A supplimentary penmanship booklet is available to help you improve your penmanship. Contact you local vendor or Shining Staar to order this booklet. This booklet is designed in a similar way to the video clips that you will see shortly. Click on the button below to view one man's hand writing. There are a series of short video clips that will show you how each letter is written. Bare in mind that this is not the only way of writing ... there are many ways. This is only a sample. If this method works for you, that is great. If you come up with your own way of writing that you feel comfortable with, that is even better...as long as your handwriting does not look very different from what you have learned so far.
